Description:
In collaboration with PostAuto, this project aims to support and guide the electrification of bus fleets in alpine regions, addressing the unique technical, economic, and environmental challenges posed by such terrains. Centered on a case study in the canton of Wallis, the project will analyze and optimize infrastructure and operational strategies to enable costeffective and reliable electric mobility for the future. A key focus will be the evaluation of different charging concepts, such as depot charging and opportunity charging, considering their feasibility in alpine conditions.
The study will also assess the influence of battery size and charging strategy on both operational efficiency and long-term performance. Interoperability will be a guiding principle, ensuring that proposed systems can integrate seamlessly with existing and future technologies.
